On Saturday October 7th, Food Font was at the West Side Market Festival and Parade that celebrated the 100-year anniversary of the West Side Market in Cleveland, OH.
The event was festive and there was lots of food, more food, music, and lots of rain! The turnout was still good, which showed how much Clevelanders love and support the West Side Market.
For the Food Font event, people made alphabets out of kale, cabbage, and brussel sprouts. The food was from two vendors of the West Side market; Boutros Brothers Produce and The Basketeria.
We were across the street from one of the event/music stages so we got to watch from afar the icecream eating contest and some great dancing by students from the Julia de Burgos cultural center. I ate some good caramel popcorn during the event and had a great time with the folks from Edible Cleveland, who we shared a booth with.
Happy 100th birthday West Side Market!
The pictures from the event are posted on the Food Font Flickr site, and also can be viewed in the slideshows below.
